study groups

I am simply here to open windows for other people and talk with them about what they see and I hope they will do the same for me.

Iwasawa theory (so far, we’ve only managed to achieve the first goal of the study group, namely, to understand the proof of the Main Conjecture using Euler systems.)

Eigenvarieties

Automorphic forms

Fargues–Fontaine Curve [Postponed till summer 2026]

Higher Coleman theory

I have a rough idea of organizing a one-year long study group “Ribet, Mazur, and Wiles” aiming at understanding three interrelated classic articles:

  • Ribet “A modular construction of unramified p-extensions of Q(µ_p)”, where he establishes the converse theorem to Herbrand;
  • Mazur’s “Modular curves and the Eisenstein ideal”, where all possibilities of torsion subgroups of elliptic curves over Q are determined;
  • Mazur—Wiles’ “Class fields of abelian extensions over Q”, where the authors prove the Iwasawa Main Conjecture over Q. Feel free to talk to me if you are interested or have any comments.

To be continued.
